Answers

Why can't I download anything?
Downloads depend upon the traffic on your particular providers GPRS network. Normally there is a specific time, as per your Time-Zone, when your GPRS network is not so busy, and the downloads work perfectly. For example, Hutch GPRS in North India is fastest early in the morning. TOP

Why does the download stop after xx bytes?
Many GPRS providers limit the size of a single download, to save network bandwidth. The bigger the size of the file, the longer you stay on the network and other users face speed problems. So mostly, operators fix the size for any one download to, say upto or below 200 kb. TOP

Why are downloads so slow?
Download speeds depend upon the traffic on your particular providers GPRS network. Normally there is a specific time, as per your Time-Zone, when your GPRS network is not so busy, and the downloads are extremely fast. For example, Hutch GPRS in North India is fastest early in the morning. TOP

Difference between Hard and Soft Format?
Soft-Format: This is like resetting all the settings on your phone, including software. It will delete everything you have customized. All settings will be reset to factory defaults.
Hard-Format: Soft-Format leaves the file-system alone, but hard-format wipes out the entire C: drive of your phone. It then copies stuff from its ROM drive Z: into the C: drive. the phone will be like when you first bought it.
WARNING! Both these options delete all personal data in C: Drive. Messages, Contacts, Settings, Calendar data etc. Memory Card is not affected. TOP

What are GPRS Settings for Vodafone/Airtel India?
Vodafone GPRS and MMS settings can be found on Vodafone Settings page.
Airtel GPRS and MMS settings are on the Airtel Settings page. TOP

Opera is not opening any sites?
Opera versions before 8 need you to specify the Proxy Address and Port of your GPRS provider. In Opera Goto Options->Settings->Connection/General and set
Use Proxy: yes
Proxy Server:*PROXY ADDR*
Port:*PROXY PORT*
Vodafone and Airtel (India) Proxy Information is available on this site. Others need to ask their mobile service operators. TOP

How to use phone's GPRS on PC with bluetooth?

How to install a new font in nokia series 60 phone?
Make a new folder 'C:/System/Fonts' with some file manager (like FExplorer). Now Copy the font file, which will be the one with the .GDR extension into the new Fonts folder. Restart the phone and font will be changed. WARNING!: Once the font is changed you will not be able to delete it as it will be in use. To change back to default font again, you will need the FontRemover application. Sometimes the Font files are in .SIS format and when you install it, it installs in 'E:/System/Fonts'. Seems like you have to put it in 'C:/System/Fonts' drive in Nokia6600 to get it working. I dont know about other phones. TOP

How to configure any email client (eg. ProfiMail)?
Any email client, including ProfiMail, do not work with free email accounts like yahoo, rediffmail, hotmail etc. To use such a software to retrieve your mails you need POP or IMAP access to your mailbox for recieving and SMTP access for sending mail.
